Our Eye Clinic has an outstanding opportunity for an Ophthalmic Technician 2. This position performs advanced tasks and highly technical tests in data collection and patient care and may be responsible for specific services provided by the Eye Clinic. Accurately obtains medical and family/social history; observes and documents physical and emotional conditions; notes medications, allergies, and pain; recognizes symptomalogy of common medical and ocular illness and documents in the medical record and reports to physician. Under general supervision, perform complex clinical diagnostic eye examinations and procedures, such as refractometry, visual acuity, Goldmann visual fields and Humphrey visual fields. Assists with minor surgical procedures such as suture adjustment, astigmatic keratometry and wound repair. Provides input into the development of patient education materials and handles basic telephone triage.

| Requirements: |
Completion of an approved ophthalmic technician program and one year of experience
Certified Ophthalmic Assistant
OR
equivalent education/experience |

Familiarity with ophthalmologic setting
Experience refracting patients
