University of Miami/Miller School of Medicine is currently seeking a Senior Ophthalmic Technician to work for Ophthalmic Services at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. Incumbent will be responsible for assisting the ophthalmologist by gathering data pertaining to the patient’s visual status and maintaining an environment conducive to the delivery of efficient quality eye care.  Under immediate supervision, the Senior Ophthalmic Technician will be in charge of patient history taking, services, clinical optics, basic ocular motility, visual fields, intermediate tonometry, keratometry, contact lenses and ocular pharmacology.  Incumbent must have experience working in a high volume clinic.

The minimum qualifications to be considered for this position are as follows: Graduate from an accredited high school or equivalent education is required. Graduation from an ophthalmic technician school is desirable. Ideal candidate must possess a minimum of three (3) years of experience. Special certification licenses- none required.
